Conception „Drumming for Peace“
Idea
On one day many people meet for a special event with their drums. Under the direction of Ebenezer Kojo Samuels a common sound emerges with the intention to produce a peaceful vibration as a signal for peace in the world. All this is accompanied by words/ speeches.
Subject matter
Drumming for peace, love and understanding between all human beings. This might seem like a fairy tail. But I can however imagine 2.000 –20.000 drummers who play the drums with their hands, every drumbeat coming directly from their hearts with the wish for peace, feeling love in our wonderful world and hoping that one day there will be a true and sympathetic communication between all human beeings, no matter to which nationality, ethnic group or religion they belong to.
This is the time to respect each other as those who we are. It is time to give, time to love, time to share time with each other; time to receive, time to rejoin with the objective of a peaceful world.
Due to my lifeexperience I have learned, to dignify peace after I approached so close to war. I realized what war does to a wonderful country like Liberia, my home country in West Africa. As a child I enjoyed the peaceful time in which I grew up. Now as an adult I worry: How must it be for people who survived the war? They actually should grow up in peace!
What are we talking about:
- about love between all human beeings
- about the pure profiteering among the people
- or about a human form of profiteering?
Drumming for Peace is a signal in order to gain the hearts of the people with the intention go create peace. I myself am a musician and I love it to play my drum. I hope to bring this campaign little by little to different parts of Germany and of the world.
My homeland is Liberia, where war erased the lifes of its people by corruption and avarice. Young and old, men who were avaricious for fortune used the power of weapons in order to obtain material power. The global laws, the human rights were abused by means of rape, armed hold-ups, the abuse of children as soldiers. These wonderful children, boys and girls were abused to kill, to destroy their own living conditions given by our Lord. The consequences: Exploitation of the natural resources of the country, destruction of cities and villages, the people left back homeless.
The world only watches, supposably as if nothing has happened. But the world is involved!
It uses for example mobiles on which the blood of poor africans adheres, who work in cobalt mines for the productin of mobiles. Cobalt is the most important element for the production of mobiles. Or think of the commerce with socalled blood diamonds. All this and much more continues, but scarcely anybody talks seriously about these global procedures. The few information which comes out is like a drop of water into an empty bucket. I wish, that this worldwide practice of the businessmen, that those devilish activities will end someday. “Take a look outside” – the picture, that I see outside, brings me to the decicion to use the drum as a peaceful signal. Every drum shall fall into the bucket and fill it symbolically for peace, love and understanding.
We should no more allow, that the ill, that has been done will be continued.
What allows us to create a peaceful, loving und amiable world, with less egoism and more human love? We have to shout out loud and play with love and power, we have to ask the whole wide world (all of us) if they give some attention. If man doesn’t live for his nearest, for whom does he live?
I pray, that y o u will cooperate with me in order to make the world a more peaceful place and to love in this world now and forever. I thank you for your attention hoping for your cooperation.
Thank you, Ebenezer Kojo Samuels
